Paula gave a fantastic workshop to the Transition Year students at Alexandra College last week. The workshop was informative, inclusive and really relevant to the students. They enjoyed it immensely and Paula's professionalism and passion for her work was palpable.
Paula is extremely knowledgeable and confident delivering her nutrition presentation. We find this kind of information essential. Paula tailored the content of her presentation to suit our students, in that, she also covered body image and sports nutrition. I would not hesitate recommending Paula for any TY program. It was lovely to have her in person presenting to our group.
Paula gave a very informative talk to our TY students about nutrition and food labelling. Paula , gave a very informative workshop on nutrition to our transition year students recently. Her approach really engaged students and kept their interest throughout . I loved the fact that she doesn’t take a militant stand on diet but instead taught the boys about making better and more informed choices regarding food . she also was aware that many of our students are very involved in sport and gave great advice on pre and post fueling .
Paula delivered a series of talks on the theme of nutrition and wellbeing to our senior cycle students. Each talk was tailored to the specific needs of each year group. Paula has a very balanced approach when it comes to nutrition and gave the students plenty of practical advice.The main message was that balance is key. The students were given plenty of opportunities to ask questions. The talks were presented in an informative, lively and accessible way. Students particularly enjoyed the section on sports nutrition. Highly recommend Paula's TY workshop on nutrition which we did online. Very informative. Paula talked about nutrition, trends, myths, sports nutrition and wellbeing. Paula came to our secondary school in Limerick and carried out 4 workshops with our transition year students. The feedback from the students was a that the workshops were a resounding success. She came in January so the students had the right outlook from the outset. She focused on topics which were perfectly directed at their age group and sat well with our wellness week also in the school. Paula, also. shared some of her amazing recipes with the students which seem to have been a hit with the students. I couldn't recommend Paula's workshops enough, the key is in the name for our students - all about balance.
Paula's approach, as a nutritionist, is informative, practical, fun and helpful. She discussed common misconceptions and dispelled myths about certain food groups. She taught the students how to approach food labels in supermarkets and to how to make the best healthy choices at the checkout. Regarding sports, she suggested what to eat before, during and after football matches. Students were empowered leaving the workshop, knowing that the small changes, such as portion size make all the difference. Paula emphasises how the balance is key. Ideal for TY groups!
Paula completed a nutrition and sports talk for our Transition Years. Paula has superb knowledge of nutrition and delivers this advice in a way to make it as easy and engaging as possible for students to understand. I really enjoyed the realistic approach to nutrition that she has and several teachers also commented on such. Would highly recommend Paula for any age group in school , super engaging. Can't wait to try the recipes.
Our students really enjoyed the talk from Paula. Paula is so practical and looks at many aspects of nutrition in the talk. She also gives excellent suggestions for snacks and lovely healthy recipes. I would 100% recommend Paula's talk. We will definitely invite her back next year.

Paula presented to all of our TY group. The girls enjoyed the presentation and found it very interesting. Throughout the presentation Paula was engaging and took the time to answers all questions the students had, during and after. Her presentation style successfully encourages engagement. Paula's talk was excellent. She spoke to our TY and LCA boys for about an hour and she pitched it perfectly. The talk was interactive and the boys really enjoyed it. The was time for questions at the end and the boys were engaged throughout.

Weight Loss Programs
So I found Paula Duggan Balanced Nutrition on Instagram I had shied away several times from joining her 10-week Healthy Eating & Weight Loss Program, however I bit the bullet and sent her a message knowing I had a family wedding coming up. Paula called me and we chatted and I decided to sign up for the program to say it is the best decision I have made recently is an understatement, the program is easy to follow (believe me I have tried several other ways in the past) the foods are tasty and what’s more the added bonus is that you DON’T feel you are on a DIET!!! I have NEVER felt a failure. I was dreadful for skipping lunch and then going for long periods of time with no foods so I would turn to a biscuit or chocolate now that has all changed and I actually make time to eat a nutritious lunch, with all of the support from Paula I am now making good decisions, the updates are fantastic along with new recipes to try, even my family enjoy them. There is nothing you cannot have on the program; you can have a treat just choose wisely. I am so thrilled with the weight loss and more importantly I am delighted with having made new healthy habits that I will stick to. I would highly recommend this program.
Paula literally helped me turn my life around by helping me recognise my relationship with food and adopt a healthy approach to eating. Her daily contact, non-judgmental approach, easiness to talk to and continued encouragement made this journey enjoyable, versus "a diet" that I had to stick to. The new habits she helped me create have made a huge impact on my health and now I recognise if I start to slip I don't feel as well and can work back to where I should be. Paula sees the individual behind the weight/problem and helps you to make a lifestyle change and develop a good relationship with food where you can eat the foods you like, but know the healthy limits. Before starting with Paula I had a very unhealthy relationship with food. I was not under weight or overweight but was very obsessive over the food I was eating. For 5 years I tracked every single thing I ate in my fitness pal. As a result I was constantly worried about how many calories were going to be in my next meal. I was aware that I viewed calories in a negative light but never did anything to fix the issue. After having an accident last September related to low blood pressure due to skipping a meal my doctor refers me to Paula. I can honestly say it is the best thing I have ever done. Initially I spoke to Paula via phone call and she explained the outline of the program. In the first week of the program I sent her pictures and descriptions of the food I ate. Following this she put a plan of action in place. The first thing she asked me to do was delete my fitness pal as it was causing me to obsess over calories, even the calories from nutritious foods. I was hesitant to do so but trusted the process. Using her recipes which she sent in a cook book as well as regular recipe post via what’s app I constructed my diet around this. Paula checked in with me on a regular basis offering tips and advice throughout. I actually ended up losing weight in the process. I think when obsessing over food I was hungry thinking about my next meal and ate more as a result. Paula has helped me to understand food is fuel. It’s important to fuel ourselves with good quality foods so we can be at our best. I still enjoy treats and nights out but have so much more respect for my body and what I am putting into it. She sends on simple yet effective tips regularly to keep you on track. I can’t recommend Paula enough. I am so much happier in myself physically but more importantly mentally. Whatever your goal her supportive nature will help you to get there!
Having reached my heaviest weight, l accepted it was time to take control. Paula was the third nutritionist I spoke with and instantly I knew her method would work for me. The timing and the person were right for me. I started with Paula in July, by Christmas l had lost 1.5 stone. I discovered smarter ways to eat more food with better nutritional value. She helped me tweak the foods we were eating as a family so dinners worked for us as a family. She helped me be more aware of what I was eating and was always on hand to answer my questions and offer guidance. Her daily WhatsApp notes kept me on track and motivated. Overall her course is practical, full of great advice, enjoyable and so doable. Paula will introduce you to positive behaviours which lead to better choices. A lot of the information you probably already know but she puts it all into perspective to create better habits.
Deciding to do the Nutrition course with Paula right before Christmas may have seemed like a bad move ... but the opposite was true. The course was very enjoyable, informative and educational. We got loads of recipes to suit all tastes and Paula was available daily for any questions. It was not just about weight loss but also about a healthy lifestyle. Finally I fit into my jeans again comfortably and I felt like a million dollars in my Christmas dress! Over the festive season I really enjoyed myself but was also I was much more aware of portion sizes and making wise choices. I would recommend Paula's course fully without reservation
I didn't overthink this decision. My friend messaged to say she found a nutritionist and there was a 10 week program starting that Monday. I just hit BUY! I wasn't 'ready' or organised but knew I was tired of the same old plans that weren't working. My relationship with food had become one of comfort and eating had become a hobby. Every Sunday night was laden with . ok tomorrow- fresh start etc etc Paula was fantastic- she took the time to see how I work. what I struggle with and what I find easy. After sharing my diet for a few days she could easily pick out small but effective changes for me to start with. I was intent on getting my money's worth and often messaged Paula when I had cravings or nights out to prepare. All of her advice has been effective and supportive. I haven't looked back. I feel healthy, light and committed. This has not been a 'diet' for me, but a journey back to simple, healthy eating with small and consistent results. I have since signed up again and again and view this as a new way of living rather than a crash course for a few weeks.
I am just thrilled I got in touch with Paula. I was on the fence for a while about who or what to sign up to, as there are so many options out there and let’s face it, the diet industry is a billion dollar empire. I just didn’t want to count calories anymore, I didn’t want to become a slave to the word diet and I didn’t want to starve myself and be miserable . I knew when I first spoke to Paula that she was on the ball, she is clear and honest and she is so easy to talk to. I set my goals and opted for the 1:1 plan, this was amazing as I had Paula at my service for all my questions and weaknesses. She is very logical and with her help I was able to not just lose weight; but my whole eating habits were recalibrated. To this day even after finishing the plan, I still read her messages and have some fabulous points that I won’t forget. Do I have treats? Yes of course, but I don’t feel guilty and I move on. I have a very balanced approach now and I am very grateful to have worked with lovely Paula.
My partner Kieran and I worked with Paula over 10 weeks and really felt the program worked for us. Paula’s daily messaging, recipes and motivational tips & advice made it easy for us to focus on our goals of weight loss and changing habits around food and felt they were attainable throughout. We loved the fact that nothing was off the table, so to speak, and Paula promoted that everything was allowed in moderation. Making lots of small changes to our diet really worked and wasn’t that difficult to action. We both lost significant weight over the period. It was very beneficial to have my partner do the programme with me. While we both had different weight loss objectives, and I am a pescatarian, Paula really helped us achieve these objectives. We both travel a lot so had to be very organised with food preparation. We were very focused and determined on the end goal and motivated each other to stay on course throughout. I think this would have been harder for us if we were both doing it alone. I would highly recommend Paula if you are looking for support to lose weight and improve your eating habits.
When I first went about looking for help with my diet I came across Paula's page. I wasn't sure if she worked with men but a quick reply by email set me right. I obviously wanted to to loose weight but didn't want to feel like I was on a strict diet. Paula has helped me change my relationship with food and everything is bearable long term too. Certain things have become a habit without realising it. I automatically double up on veg and have changed a glass of water to a pint. Buying petrol doesn't involve eating a bar of chocolate on the way home anymore. Being consistent and prepared is key for me.
I’m just a few weeks into working with Paula and I can’t believe the turnaround in my life! There is so much information out there on how to be healthy but Paula debunks all the fads and gives you guide on how to live a balanced, healthy lifestyle. I was stuck in a rut of planning and eating what I thought was sustainable to lose weight while being in an intensive gym fitness program but I was confused with so many sources of so-called healthy eating approaches. Planning my meals was becoming so stressful but now it’s the easiest task because I am so well informed (and armed with amazing new recipes), and I have a refreshed attitude to nutrition. I’m living in China but the distance has not made this difficult with Paula being a constant place of support and encouragement. The advice, tips and recipes throughout the week are amazing but the support being just a message away has been wonderful. I never feel silly asking questions because the response is never judgemental. I’ve had friends notice how relaxed I have become in just this short period of time. If you’re thinking of working with someone like Paula, I highly recommend her! Investing in your health is more important than ever now!
I signed up to Paula’s programme after trying (and giving up on) more than a few fads. I was overwhelmed with all the advice available on social media, confused and unsure about what was best for me. I found Paula’s guidelines to be simple and easy to follow. As a foodie I wanted something that suited my love of good food. Nothing is ‘not allowed’ and I loved how no matter what I wanted to include Paula told me how to make it work for me. Daily texts kept me on track a new idea or recipe every day kept me interested. I’m never hungry and I know how to make weekends work too. I know that the balanced style of eating that she has taught me will be a life long practice. I'm delighted I joined Paula's 10-week programme. I had previously found it difficult to lose weight. I had been trying for years, dipping in and out of magazines and exercises but it didn't work! Knowledge is a great thing!! The programme is great as I got loads of practical tips and encouragement. I lost 16 pounds. I loved the recipes and have been more experimental with my meals since. I found the 10 week loss program amazing. Paula was fantastic at giving me support and inspiration everyday on WhatsApp. Paula's recipes are very easy to follow and full of amazing flavour. I wouldn’t class myself as a good cook but after following the cookbook and learning about portion sizes etc. I now love it. She goes through everything step by step referencing calories, nutrition etc. Above all, I don't feel deprived of any food group. Most importantly, I still have and enjoy my treats and I still go out once a week for date night. As well as losing weight my lifestyle has changed by educating me to stop and think and see what I can adjust to lessen my calorie intake. Paula isn't judgmental at all if you gain, she’s happy when you lose. On those tough days she gave me extra encouragement and praise to get me through to the other side. All in all, over the course of 20 weeks I’ve lost 28 pounds or 2 stone.

Paula’s 1:1 program was brilliant. Her practical advice was a real eye opener and I learned so many tips and tricks that I now apply to my every day living. I lost 18lbs over the duration of the program which I was amazed at. And all achieved through eating nice normal food, having my treats and still having my nights out!! The main thing I have took from the program was how much I was mindlessly eating and drinking before, I now think more before I eat and make better, smarter decisions. Highly recommend Paula’s courses to anyone who needs a fresh new approach or feels a bit stuck. Her approachable nature made it a very enjoyable process and I will be back again for a refresher course in the future!!
Paula is big into changing the way you think about food, health, dieting and weight, she is not just about the number on the scales!! She shows you how to include carbs, bread and the odd treat in your diet. Balance is the big thing. I have learned so much about nutrition, weight loss, food and portion size. Everything can be eaten in moderation, I know this now, but I also now understand what moderation actually means! I’d recommend Paula to anyone, I got on great with her, she is really encouraging and doesn’t make you feel stupid. She is forever sharing tips, pics of what she is eating, and she always knows just what to say when life got in the way! It has clicked at last!
Had a one on one face to face session then a one to one 10-week program. I recommend anyone who wants to get healthy, get fit, lose weight, to do the same. It is a wonderful investment in yourself. I lost 2 stone in 11 weeks and currently only 3 pounds off losing another stone. But more than that I feel healthier and fitter. I've done all the diet programs there are to do and every diet there is to do. Paula has taught me so much, what to do and even more importantly, what not to do! This really works having someone to text or ring and it is totally tailored to you. If you're reading this because you are thinking of trying it then just do it. Treat yourself or get someone to buy you a session or a program for Christmas or your birthday. It will change your life. Yes, I know you think that's a bit daft but it's true!

We hired Paula for a Wellness Event and from the outset, we found Paula to be professional, approachable and flexible to deal with. Her delivery and presentation style is very relaxed, practical & informative. As well as a nutrition talk which focused on weight loss tips and nutritional myths, she also did an eye-opening food labelling/marketing workshop. The feedback was excellent, that is to say, everyone found the workshop so practical, applicable, visual & hence memorable. I was very impressed with the way Paula communicated the information to our audience. Nutrition and health, in general, are subjects that can conjure up feelings of stress or guilt, especially when the person delivering the topic is an expert in the area. Paula delivered the information in a way that put people at ease, she wasn't patronising or 'know-it-all', just very genuine, warm and super informative. We had such a great response from our members that we are already planning another Workplace Wellness event with Paula.
